APPLE CAKE

I love making this cake in the fall. It is so yummy served warm with a little vanilla ice cream.

FRESH APPLE CAKE WITH BUTTER CREAM SAUCE

APPLE CAKE

Cream together:
  • 1 cup sugar                                                  
  • ½ cup butter   
  • 2 cup grated apples with skins

Mix together and add to above:
  • 1 cup flour                                                   
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt                                                
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp soda
Put in an ungreased 8x8 inch pan.  Cook 45 minutes at 350 degrees.  Makes 1 (8x8) pan.

CREAM SAUCE
  • ½ cup butter                                                
  • ½ cup light cream
  • 1 cup sugar                                              
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Stir on low heat for 12 – 15 minutes. Do not boil.
