SARAH'S SALAD

This salad is a favorite for our family and is SO easy. It is best made a few hours ahead and chilled in the fridge. I've seen several variations on this recipe, but I love the basic original.

SARAH'S SALAD
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce (I use other lettuce, really whatever kind you like)
  • 1/2 of 10 oz pkg frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2/3 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Miracle Whip
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 3 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
Break lettuce into pieces in salad bowl.  Defrost peas by running under warm water
and add to lettuce.  Layer celery, Swiss cheese and green onions.  Top with mayo
and Miracle Whip, spreading over entire top of salad.   Sprinkle sugar, salt, pepper
and crumbled bacon on top.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.  Toss.
